[Interview] How to Get FREE Media Coverage w/ Michelle Lopez Boggs

I was recently invited to be part of an interview series called…

Unconventional Marketers:
How Top Entrepreneurs Start Small
& Profit Big Without Conventional Marketing

…It’s hosted by Michelle Lopez Boggs, an American copywriter who writes for 8-figure brands.

She’s also the author of the book The Anti-Marketing Manifesto: How to Sell Without Being a Sellout.

I bought Michelle’s book a few months ago and decided to connect with her on Instagram to let her know I loved her book!

So you can imagine I was thrilled that she asked me to be a part of her interview series.

You can get instant access, here. (It’s FREE)

During my 30-minute chat with Michelle, I drew upon my 15 years of experience in PR and Marketing and my expertise in Human Design… and I shared some practical tips on how to get free media coverage and market your business, based on your Human Design type.

If you’ve ever wondered why certain sales and marketing tactics work great for some entrepreneurs, but not for you… don’t miss this interview!

Michelle and I discuss:

  • How to get FREE media coverage to promote your business (for any Human Design type)
  • 3 things that make you “newsworthy”
  • Which entrepreneurs should definitely seek media coverage (and why)
  • How your Human Design type impacts which marketing techniques are best for you
  • How one of my clients saw her business skyrocket after an article was published about her in the media (she made an instant 10K)
  • Why it’s important to make your media pitches “all about the journalist”—regardless of your Human Design type
  • How I use Michelle’s “Anti-Marketing Manifesto” philosophy to grow my own business

PS One of my favorite parts of the interview is when Michelle and I started talking about cold calling and cold outreach — why it feels so awful and how it doesn’t work for us as Projectors.

Human Design Projectors need an “invitation + recognition” to work with new clients. So cold calling isn’t right for our design type. (In fact, cold calling is only for Human Design Manifestors!)

Leave a comment and let me know what you think of cold calling. Have you done it? Has it worked for you? Do you love it or hate it?
